I created Poodle Club after thirty years in the live comedy business, both as a performer and a promoter. I kept hearing how women and queer people didn't enjoy live comedy, that it wasn't welcoming and often just felt like men jousting and insulting the audience.

 

Well, I decided to change all that, and created a chic boutique London comedy venue where everyone was welcomed and celebrated, on stage and in the audience. Our professional comedians are carefully curated to reflect our inclusive values, and our hilarious hostesses make guests feel like they've been invited to an exclusive and fabulous party.

We are currently the only pro comedy venue in the UK that books equal numbers of men & women, and many diverse LGBTQ+ comedians, and we hope other clubs will follow suit. Live comedy is finally becoming more inclusive, and we are excited to be a part of that.
